“Green Consensus and Turkey’s Compliance Panel” was organized at Sabahattin Zaim Conference Hall in cooperation with Sakarya University (SAU), International Trade Network (UTRADER), Tax Inspectors Association and Community Contribution and Sustainability Coordinatorship (TOKAS). Fatih Mustafa Olcay, President of Data Inspector Association and Safiye Şahin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of International Trade Network Association made the opening speeches. SAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Özer Köseoğlu said, “Green Consensus, Green Transformation is not a simple issue that can be solved only by trade or environment. This issue requires serious awareness and effort. Many institutions and organizations, especially universities, have important roles. We are also making efforts to raise this awareness. Next year, we aim to be among the top 20 universities and become a Research University. We think that we have achieved significant success in Green Transformation calls.” In the second session, Murat Hekim, Chairman of IAC IQ Independent Audit Board, took part in the panel together with Cenk Narter, Managing Partner of CCIIST Narter and Partners, and Leyla De Mos, Board Member of Chamber of Commerce The Netherlands – Turkey Foundation.
In his remarks, Murat Hekim, the chairman of the board, made important suggestions regarding the focus on digital transformation as well as its contribution to green transformation and its application areas in the sector. Emphasizing that it is not enough to focus only on technology in today’s rapidly advancing digital transformation, he stated that green transformation is also an important part of it. He stated that implementing environmentally friendly practices in many areas from industrial processes to supply chains is critical for a sustainable future.
Hekim elaborated on the benefits of green transformation for businesses and society, and explained its economic, environmental and social dimensions. He also supported the contributions of digital transformation to green transformation with examples and explained how technology can support environmentally friendly solutions.
Hekim’s detailed and content-filled presentation attracted great interest from students, panelists and other participants. His talk provided participants with an in-depth understanding and inspiration on both digital transformation and green transformation.
